TRAINING COURSE ON ROMA HISTORY AND CULTURE
"THE PAST OF THE ROMA - THE FUTURE OF EUROPE. WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO APPROACH THE EU'S LARGEST ETHNIC MINORITY"

which will take place on September 13, 2023 at the Western University of Timișoara, Romania.

The training course will take place both on-site and online, in English and Romanian (simultaneous translation will be provided). Pre-registration is required - you can sign up here.
This training course will provide a brief overview of Roma history and culture as a starting point to reflect on the social, political, cultural, economic and environmental importance of placing Roma at the center of EU public debates on the future of our society . The course is aimed in particular at staff in public administration and European Union institutions and will explore difficult, sensitive or controversial issues related to Roma and anti-Gypsism, and will contribute to the identification and incorporation of human rights concerns in the work of civil servants.
This year, the training course will be addressed specifically to public authorities in Romania, by organizing a specific session dedicated to the history and culture of the Romanian Roma. The full schedule is attached.
