Civil Society representative selection announcement

Dear representatives of Civil Society Organizations,

As you well know, the European Commission created, since 2009, the "European Platform for Roma Inclusion".

The European Platform for Roma Inclusion brings together national governments, the European Union, international organizations and Roma Civil Society Organizations, with the aim of stimulating cooperation and exchange of experience to promote the successful inclusion of Roma. This year, the event will be jointly organized by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission and will take place at Madrid, On November 30, 2023.

The central theme of the 2023 edition of the platform is "Ensuring equal access to adequate segregated housing through better use of EU and national funds".

In this context, the organizers asked the National Contact Point for Roma to nominate a civil society representative to actively participate in the 16th European Platform for Roma Inclusion.

Consequently, in order to transparently select the civil society representative who will participate in the European Platform for Roma Inclusion, we invite you to complete and submit FORM until the July 24, 2023, 12:00 p.m

The selection criteria for the nomination of a representative of the national civil society are as follows:

  1. Knowledge of the English language: The candidate must have advanced knowledge of English to enable effective communication and to actively participate in discussions and activities.
    • The level of knowledge of the English language (speaking, listening, reading and writing);
    • Previous experience communicating in English in an international context (demonstrated by participation in conferences, seminars, international events).
  2. The level of representativeness of the organization: The candidate must be a representative of an organization with an appropriate level of representativeness, which can be local, regional, national or international.
    • The organization's reputation and influence in Roma communities;
    • The organization's experience in collaborating with other relevant organizations at local/regional/national/international level (in the last 5 years).
  3. Experience in the implementation of projects/actions aimed at the inclusion of Romanian citizens belonging to the Roma minority, with emphasis on the central theme of the event.
    • The number of projects/actions implemented for the inclusion of Romanian citizens belonging to the Roma minority (in the last 5 years);
    • The impact achieved following the implementation of previous projects/actions for the inclusion of Romanian citizens belonging to the Roma minority (the number of beneficiary Roma people or communities, the level of access to services, jobs created and other relevant indicators).

In the event that several candidates score equally, tie-breaking criteria will be applied.
